3-alpha-Hydroxy-5-beta-androstan-17 one. A ketosteroid of mainly human origin; causes fever, immunostimulation and leukocytosis; used to evaluate adrenal cortex function, bone marrow performance and in neoplastic disease for immunostimulation. Synonym: 5-isoandrosterone.
