The Custard-apple plant family of the order Magnoliales, subclass Magnoliidae, class Magnoliopsida. Some members have large pulpy fruits and commercial timber. Leaves and wood are often fragrant. Leaves are simple, with smooth margins, and alternately arranged in two rows along the stems.
